The Nevada Traffic Ticket Point System

Nevada Ticket AttorneysNevada Traffic Ticket Points

Nevada uses a "Point Demerit System" as part of its driver improvement program. Under this system, traffic law violations are assigned a point value which varies depending on the nature and severity of the offense.

If the Department of Motor Vehicles receives a notice from a court that you have a traffic law violation conviction then it will enter the offense on your permanent driving record. Points are counted during a 12-month period. If you pay a traffic ticket then you are agreeing to the conviction and points will be added to your record.

If you receive 12 points in any 12 month period your license can be automatically suspended.

Don't let this happen to you!
